{Two} Months went {Too} Fast

My name is Trice and I'm 2 months old. My mommy is sad I'm growing so fast, but I'm not because I think it's fun learning new things! Silly mommy!

{Weight} & {Length} - Trice's 2 month appointment was supposed to be this Wednesday, but we had to reschedule and it's not until the 16th now. I will update when we get the offiicial doctor's stats. A few weeks ago we weighed him and he was 12.5 lbs.

{Sleep} - Trice has been sleeping from 8pm to 5am and then back to sleep until 7:30am. The first time this happened, I woke up in the middle of the night panicking... the second time, I thought, "Thank God that wasn't just a one time thing!" To be honest, I miss the middle-of-the-night cuddle time, but I feel a million times better getting all that sleep! I've been trying to get him to nap in the crib more, but we still aren't much for napping not in mommy's arms (hmm.. wonder what caused that?!) Benny hooked up his video monitor in his room this weekend. I kept putting it off because I'm not even close to ready to moving him over. Unfortunately, he will be exceeding the weight limit for his bassinet soon so I won't have a choice. I suppose it's just another part of him growing up ... but he's still so little!

{I Spy with My Little Eye..} - I've never seen anyone so in love with a green lamp shade, but this baby will not take his eyes off it. He stares at that thing non-stop! He's also in love with the triangle window in our house. Recently he has discovered the light from the TV and is also really into contrasting colors on shirts. He loved the white letters on my dad's bright green shirt! But mostly, he wants to stare at his mom. I'm talking break-your-neck staring .. this baby will not take his eyes off me (I know, I know .. I'm just sooo fascinating!)

{Jibber Jabber} - We have a little gabber! Trice coos like there's no tomorrow. His grunting has settled down a lot (and we are glad... no more piggies in this house!) He chats with me all day long, but my favorite coos are those I get when he first wakes up in the morning. I LOVE cooing back at babies and having conversations with them, but chatting with my own baby is the greatest thing in the world! Here's a video of him chatting away with the mirror: Trice Jabbering

{Boys & Their Toys} - We're still a big crinkle monkey fan, but the piano play mat always wins! Now that he's discovered the mirror on it, he doesn't care about anything else. He chats away with that adorable baby staring back at him. We always joke about how he's so full of himself!  His neck is getting stronger and he's looking all around. He enjoys tummy time on his changing table the most, but now with his new mirror he is pretty content anywhere. His hands are opening up more so it's easier for him to accidentally grab things and then he holds on REAL tight! He is so in love with his thumbs - he even figured out how to get his thumb in his pacifier so he can suck on both at the same time. He's definitely a big fan of thumb sucking and would prefer that over a pacifier any day!

1 Week, 1 Month, 2 Months .. Look at me Grow!

Our Life with our 2 Month Old Roomie:

Our days with Trice are full of singing .. if you've ever heard Nick or I sing, you would feel bad for the child. But we sing everything! We sing about what we're doing, about our day, about how much we love him, how Jesus loves him, and every lullaby in the book. I hope he grows up loving music (and is blessed with a better voice than his parents!)  We read to him every day and roll around on the floor with him a lot. We're just pretty silly in this house!

We are now staying up later at night since he is sleeping. I really never thought we'd stay up after he went to bed. It's been nice to have a little down time in the evenings to watch TV, pick up the house, BLOG, or just hang out.

We're getting into the "routine" of having a third person around. It seems so different than it did when we first brought him home. It makes me a little sad that he's growing so fast, but it's also nice that we are figuring out how to balance things that have to get done with snuggle time.

And I'll end with a cute daddy quote: (Thinking he's just come up with the best idea ever...) "Why don't they invent something that's like a nipple but doesn't have milk coming out so babies can suck but not eat all the time." .... "That would be a pacifier, hunny."
