Pregnancy Book Nook

There are tons of books out there about pregnancy, but here are the ones that have been given to me or I have purchased that I'm totally in love with:

1. Belly Laughs: My coworker gave me this book as a Christmas gift a couple weeks ago. It is awesome. It's written by a mother and just tells the truth about what's really going on - she doesn't sugarcoat anything. Any pregnant woman or mom would get a kick out of it!

2. Oh, Baby the Places You'll Go: My coworker also gave me this book. It's a Dr. Seuss book "to be read in utero" (and obviously after he/she arrives, too!) Benny already called dibs on reading it to Poppy first.

3. The Belly Book: This is the 2nd pregnancy journal I bought after my coworker recommended it to me. It's basically a journal of my pregnancy where I can put belly pictures, cravings, feelings, and notes about dr.'s appointments. I've really enjoyed filling it out, but need to start printing my belly pics to stick inside.

4. My Pregnancy Journal: This was the 1st pregnancy journal I bought. I couldn't decide, so I just went with it. I really like this one, but wanted the Belly Book, too! Ha. So I fill them both out because they ask different questions and I just want to capture it all. I know this probably seems silly because baby will most likely never read it, but hey, I found a journal my mom wrote for me while I was growing up about a month ago and it is now one my most cherished possessions.

5. What to Expect When Expecting: This book was given to me as a Congratulatory gift from a family friend. This is the know-it-all pregnancy book. It breaks pregnancy down into sections and has lots of answers to questions that have already popped into my mind. I refer to it a lot when I just wonder about something and don't want to search the Internet. Plus, I'm going to use this book for when I have pregnant mom clients in the future.

I love this whole experience and knowing all about what that little one is up to in my tummy or if something is safe to eat or if what I am feeling is normal. Obviously, there are some less than pleasant things about pregnancy (and I know I haven't experienced even half of them yet), but it's such a miraculous thing to me and I'm trying to take it all in. Plus, I've only had one pregnant mom on my caseload so far but to be honest I was not completely confident because I didn't feel like I knew enough to answer her questions and because I had never experienced it. I feel I'll be much more prepared the next time I'm serving a pregnant mommy.

If anyone has read any other pregnancy books that were just awesome, I'd love to know about them. I'm especially interested in any for daddies .. so recommend away!
