Little Poppy gave us another first the other night- a few little kicks! I was so excited that I grabbed Benny's hand right away and put it on my tummy. He had to leave it there for awhile but sure enough, Poppy kicked daddy, too! I started crying when he felt it ... we love our little Poppy!
The kicks were real little - so I don't think we have a punter on our hands yet, but I'm sure soon enough he'll be kicking away! Benny told me to stop encouraging him to kick because maybe he was tired and just wanted to rest! Ha! Since that night, I've been feeling more movement everyday. I can't help but touch my belly all day long. My belly button has popped out and I have this irrational fear of touching it - like I'm going to touch it and explode or something.
Our last appointment went great - we got to hear Poppy's heartbeat again which is always amazing. It was 160! I'm thinking more and more that we better get to picking a little girl name, but Benny's still convinced Poppy is a boy. We scheduled our ultrasound for March 8th and we are TOO excited to see our little Poppy.
Other not so pleasant changes of lately include a giant dose of heartburn - holy burps! Luckily, my coworker is pregnant, too, and we can laugh about this stuff all day. I'm all about manners, but I can't stop these burps and belches - so I just have to laugh. It doesn't matter what I eat, when I eat it, or how much I eat of it - heartburn follows. I've also had some tummy aches lately - just good old fashioned want-to-cry-to-your-mom tummy aches. I've been sleeping in the recliner most nights (or I should say .. attempting to sleep!) but last night I slept the entire night without ever getting up (not even to go potty .. there's a first for everything)! Overall, I'm feeling pretty good. Benny is getting anxious to meet Poppy, and I'm getting anxious about getting everything done for Poppy.
That's all in Poppy news for now ... a bowl of ice cream is calling my name.
